Built by the Emperor Justinian in the early 6th century AD and designed by Anthemius of Tralles and Isodore of Miletus, the church is one of the marvels of world architecture. Converted into a mosque in 1453, it is now a museum. Its massive dome still dominates the skyline of old Istanbul. It is also famed for its mosaics, including glittering portraits of emperors and empresses and a poignant Virgin and Child.
  • Next we visit the Blue Mosque which takes its name from the exquisite tiles adorning its interior. Built by Sultan Ahmet I in the early 17th century and designed by a pupil of Sinan, the greatest of Ottoman architects, it is the only imperial mosque with six minarets. Its courtyard is especially grand.
  • Then we will visit the most famous palace of Ottoman Empire Topkapi Palace. Set on top the most visible hill of Istanbul, Topkapi Palace, is the symbol of the city. Opulent, decadent and steeped in history, it offers visitors a chance to get to know the Sultans of the Ottoman Empire rather more intimately. It was built in 1461 by Mehmet the Conqueror and remained both the symbolic and political home of the Ottoman Empire until Sultan Abdülmecid. It was converted into a museum after the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the creation of the Turkish Republicin 1924 and is a must see for any tourist visiting Istanbul. It is made up of four different courtyards and various exhibitions such as the treasury, weapons, watch collection, kaftans, portraits and sacred relics of prophets.
  • After having a amazing Ottoman style lunch we will visit Yerebatan Sarnici (The Basilica Cistern) Atmospheric music, rosy flood lighting and the lilting sound of water lapping on marble – entering the Underground Cistern known in Turkish as Yerebatan Sarayi – or Basilica Cistern, is an experience that charms all the senses.Built to store water, this has to be the fanciest and most enormous well you’ll ever see. The cistern dates back to Byzantine days when the city was called Constantinople.Built by Emperor Justinian in the mid-500s, the cavernous underground water-storage area has a vaulted brick ceiling supported by a forest of Corinthian-carved marble columns.
  • Then we will visit The Hippodrome, the stadium of ancient Byzantium, held 100,000 spectators and featured objects from all corners of the empire. Of these, an Egyptian obelisk and a bronze sculpture of three entwined serpents from Delphi survive.
  • After that you will have some free time in The Grand Bazaar which was the commercial heart of the old city and its 4,000 shops are full of treasures including carpets and kilims, silks, jewelry, ceramics, icons, and leather goods. Wandering through the Grand Bazaar, indulge in some shopping, Ottoman style.
  • You will have a unique experience while walking and shopping in ancient Grand Bazaar.

  • After a joyful breakfast in the hotel we will visit Dolmabahce Sarayi. The sultans of Ottoman Empire lived here from 1856 to 1922. With its columns and pediments, the opulent palace has a very European appearance, and the interior is a mid-Victorian statement in over-the-top luxury.Gilt, marble and crystal abound. A particular highlight is the world’s largest crystal chandelier hovering over the center hall, a gift from Queen Victoria. Guided tours lead from waiting rooms to the offices of the Grand Vizier and other ornate apartments looking over the sea. The palace has a special place in the hearts of modern-day Turks, as the leader Atatürk made the palace his home and it was here that he passed away in 1938.
  • Our next destination will be Minaturk. Walk between the trimmed lawns of Miniaturk dotted with more than 100 miniature models of Turkey’s great buildings, such as Hagia Sophia, the mausoleum at Halicarnassus, and the Atatürk international airport. As one of the world’s largest miniature parks, this open-air site features architectural structures from Istanbul, Anatolia, and even from the Ottoman territories that are no longer part of Turkey. See the ancient city of Ephesus, the bridge over the Bosporus, the Suleymaniye mosque, fairy chimneys, and Mount Nemrut, all scaled down to 1/25 of their original size. A miniature train passes through the paths.
  • Our next destination is The Panorama 1453 Historical Museum is located in Topkapi Cultural Park. The museum takes the form of a panoramic mural which tells the story of the famous conquest of Constantinople by Sultan Mehmed in May 1453. The mural measures 38 meters in diameter and covers an area of 2,350m². It took eight artists five years to complete. The artists used 10,000 live models to create a realistic 3D effect. As you look on the mural there are background battle sound effects played. The highlight of the siege events was when the Ottoman forces broke through the Byzantine line of defense. Once the Ottoman’s had taken the city Sultan Mehmet II was named “Fatih” or conqueror.
